A published author in 2019, Jennifer has also received rave reviews for her first book, Show Up Like A Coach, which walks the reader through how to use coaching skills to become a better communicator, both at work and at home.
After 12 years working in France to hone her communication and business skills in both languages, Jennifer moved back to Canada in 2005. Through the creation of her business JGK Consulting in 2008, Jennifer’s goal was – and remains - raising the bar in executive development to develop better leaders in order to create and sustain great business.
Jen’s sweet spot is working with executive teams, moving them forward through honest and effective coaching and group facilitation. She is particularly skilled at designing internal coaching programs and working with executives to enhance their leadership through powerful coaching. With a client, a coaching skills program Jen designed for new managers won the gold medal in three separate categories in the 2022 Brandon Hall Excellence Awards. Her executive coaching style is as daring as her choice in shoes and her multifaceted organizational and international experiences offer clients unique perspectives and insights. Her workshops are rich with practical, real-life business knowledge and experience and are focused on applicable, useful learning. She won the prestigious ICF Prism Award for excellence in organizational coaching in 2014 with one of her clients, a global professional services firm.
Jennifer is committed to lifelong learning and has been continually updating her skill set since receiving her Master’s Degree in Adult Learning & Development in 2004. In the past few years she has completed the Foundations in Neuroscience program with the NLI, Seth Godin’s altMBA program and received her CMC (Certified Mentor Coach) designation, which underpins the work she is doing with her clients in developing innovative and effective internal coaching and leadership development programs. At the end of 2019, Jen received the Certified Change Management Practitioner designation from the Association of Project Managers Group International (APMG).
Regarded by her clients as being someone who brings instant value and understanding of their organizational culture, Jennifer has the ability to integrate all aspects of the business into her coaching, helping senior leaders connect the dots and better incorporate leadership and business together. Jennifer's current clients include Deloitte Canada, CPA Canada and Queen's University along with many smaller organizations particularly in technology, engineering and finance. She has extensive experience working with most areas of the private and non-profit sector and at all levels of government.
Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Learning and Development from the UK, and a BA in History from the University of Victoria. Jennifer spent 12 years living and working in France, and is fluent in French. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Executive Coaches (ACEC) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Jennifer also offers her time to mentor and develop others in the field, as well as working with select non-profit organizations that are making a positive impact on their communities.
